A Reddit user walked into a Micro Center on October 9 to pick up an RTX 5090 ProArt.

Staff were pulling every 5090 card off the shelf while he stood there.

The manager would not explain why.

He begged for one.

He got it.

The salesperson's send-off: "Congrats on getting the last 5090 we will probably sell." Six days later the retailer flipped every 5090 listing from "out of stock" to "not carried," which means the card is not coming back.

Reporting points to the same cause industry-wide, GB202 silicon routed to business parts, and NVIDIA has not commented.

Anyone sizing compute for real work knows the feeling.

You plan around a budget, then the hardware you planned around vanishes from the shelf and whatever is left climbs in price, so your project waits on a supply chain you do not control.

There is a way out of that queue.

RTX 3090 capacity runs at $0.15/hr and storage at $2.49/TB, available today and billed by the hour.

Buy Now Pay Later means zero upfront and payment one month after you start, so the first test costs nothing today.

What piece of hardware did you need for a project this year and could not actually buy?
